Harvest Clay is the handcrafted and wheel thrown pottery works of Lisa Benny.
I, Lisa, am located in S.E. Queensland where I indulge my passion for clay by producing tableware with care and detail devoted to each piece. My pottery is functional and intended to be used intimately and personally each day.
I use Stoneware as it is a dense and durable clay that is high fired to temperatures between 1250–1280°C. Its natural colour varies from light gray or tan to dark gray or chocolate brown. Each piece is handmade and similar pieces may have slight variations, same but unique.

Inspired by how we live
I see everyone as having their daily rituals and practices. Eating, sharing and making food is the universal expression of friendship and hospitality. To have beautiful and unique tableware made by hand enhances the process of preparing and serving our food.
As an interior designer, I am fascinated by cultures and rituals of how we live. The ergonomics and adaptations of practices inspires me to produce pieces through the old handcrafted process of wheel thrown pottery.
Working with clay and the earth to create functional pieces is a process that produces unique and beautiful tableware.
